This will be my last dispatch from the front. I think I have commented on all that I need to. I will leave you with one last thought from the perspective of my eighth decade. At this time in life, we all have memories of the past which we cherish and can often inform the happenings of today. But the real magic is to remember these things, but to live In the now. As the Bible says, “Now is the accepted time,” and we often forget this in wishing things were as they used to be.
This is no long the world in which we grew up, which was not as perfect or as rosy as we may remember it. It had its problems as we do now. We just need to walk through each day with joy, love and the hope that we still have something to add.
My last comment is a big thank you to all who have read this blog over the last few years. I have enjoyed your comments and your willingness to travel along with me. I wish all of you the very best.
