With the virus changing every aspect of our lives in the past year, it has sometimes been difficult not to lose our joy. However, I have just come across two older ladies that exemplify the delight that can be found in small moments. These two are not fashionably dressed, they do not live in perfect houses, and they enjoy the smallest things in life to the fullest. I want to be their friend.
Entitled the Aunties or the Happy Grannies, they are the creations of Inga Look who is a Finish illustrator. She based these delightful free spirits on two women who lived in her apartment building in Helsinki where she grew up. I have chosen some of the illustrations that appealed to me, but do look up the rest of them on the web. I guarantee they will bring you a sense of not only the joy to be found in the small things of life, but in the freedom to pursue that joy.
