What I Have Learned Writing This Blog

What I learned writing this blog.gif

My blog is hosted by a company which has a feature that shows from where the interest in my various observations is originating.  It has been fun to watch the space grow (although by internet standards it is a very modest growth), not only in the United States but abroad as well.  I can also tell what has struck the public in general as something about which they would like to read.

The first thing that caught my eye was that an essay entitled Truth, which was published in September of 2019, continues to be of interest.  What is noteworthy is that the readers of this particular subject are mostly international from France to Vietnam to Kenya to China --- a world of our fellow human beings.  In a globe that seems so fractured by race, religion, language, and government, it is interesting to note that people of all different backgrounds are reaching for this one thing --- the truth.

One of the next most popular blogs, entitled The Indefatigability of Good, was published this last Christmas.  It was about the lovely act of a woman anonymously giving a Christmas tree to a family that could not afford one.  It was a quiet act of charity that caught the eye of many.  As humans we all reach for good, and are heartened when we see it around us.

Last was a recent blog on grief, Falling Stars, which came from a heavy heart.  It was the biggest response I have received so far, and shows that everyone in these complicated times, as well as throughout their lifetimes, has had to face the difficulties and challenges of death.  I hope it brought some comfort.

I have been writing these small essays for over two years.  It surprises even me that it has continued this long.  I appreciate those who have read my small offerings and commented so generously.  I will continue to send messages from out here on the front, and enjoy thinking of all of you sharing my thoughts, observations, and memories.  After all, we are all in this together.
